Having dealt with a bad and a good contractor for my snow blowing, I can relate to the post on this review site where they talk about Tony's Snowblowing in Ottawa. I think it's a great idea to browse reviews sites before hiring contractors. Here are a few sites I found for the Ottawa region:

Another site I have used is http://www.homestars.com . They have listings for Vancouver and Toronto area contractors, designers, home retailers etc.
Unfortunately they don't have a section for Ottawa.
